Blackheath, South of the river close to Greenwich, is the most affluent part of Lewisham. Stunning Georgian terraces are set around the Heath, and nearby Pond road, has Blackheath Park and Cator Estate, with a wide selection of architectural styles, there are a number of magnificent mansions and villas, many of which have swimming pools. Black Heath Village, where the properties are predominantly Georgian, is charming, and authentic. There are a number of local shops and plenty of restaurants. Property prices tend to be high, and the area attracts professionals and families. It is convenient for commuting to the city as it takes only 12 minutes to London Bridge.
