Acton, Just West of Hammersmith, Acton is a largely residential area with a mixture of property types from council estates, Victorian houses, and converted flats. There are a lot of young professionals and first time buyers as the property prices are slightly cheaper than neighboring Ealing. Transient communities of young Australians and South Africans take up many of the shared houses. The area is also popular with families, as there are good comprehensive schools, including The Japanese School, and the King Fahad Academy, near by. The main shopping areas are pedestrianised Kings Street, and The Oaks Shopping Centre on the High Street. Acton provides a central location with excellent transport links, giving easy access to West and Central London.
