Information on Mortlake
Mortlake: South of the river, just east of Barnes, Mortlake has some beautiful riverside homes. Its name dates back to the Doomsday book and it has had a long history of Brewing. Since the 1700s there have been malt houses in use, and is now home to Budweiser Stag Brewing Company, on the riverbank close to Chiswick Bridge. Popular Victoria road and Wrights Walk have lovely properties with huge gardens. Certain roads do suffer from tidal flooding. Tideway Yard is a successful redevelopment with a wine bar, offices and a number of riverside flats. Parallel to the river, High street has a number of flats including council built blocks. Mortlake is convenient for Richmond and commuting to Waterloo by train, takes about 20 minutes.
